Initially, I tested the A1 motorway without speeding, which was boring.
I climbed from Curtea de Arges, along a pleasant road, with nice, warm weather, to Vidraru dam.
Initial am testat autostrada A1 cu viteza legala, plictisitoare.  
Am urcat dinspre Curtea de Arges, pe un drum placut, cu o vreme frumoasa si calda , pana la Barajul Vidraru.

From the dam, another road, with very many bends, started towards the rear end of the lake, a road with many potholes, which caused unspeakable discomfort, for my motorcycle has a stiff suspension system.  

De la baraj a inceput un alt drum, cu foarte multe curbe, spre coada lacului, plictisitor si cu multe gropi, care creeau un disconfort exagerat de mare, motocicleta avand suspensii rigide.

At long last, I began to glimpse the mountain ridges and, slowly, I began climbing towards the most spectacular area: the TRANSFAGARASAN road.

Intr-un sfarsit am inceput sa vad crestele muntilor si incet, incet sa urc spre zona cea mai spectaculoasa: TRANSFAGARASAN-ul .

The asphalt on the Transfagarasan was exceptional, with no potholes, very many hairpin bends and views that take your breath away. On that night of September 2 fell the first snow of 2010. On the mountain tops there was snow and it was starting to get colder and colder. I was very inspired in Ramnicu Valcea, where I put on proper clothes. The Transfagarasan owes its beauty to the fact that the hairpin turns are very steep and tight at the same time, and the precipices 30-40 meters deep. The tilt of the motorbike in the turns amplifies the adrenalin 10 times ;)))))) It is the coolest sensation that I have ever experienced!

Asfaltul pe Transfagarasan a fost exceptional, fara gropi, cu foarte multe curbe si peisaje care iti taie respiratia. In acea noapte de 2 sept. a fost prima zapada din anul 2010. Pe crestele muntilor era zapada si incepea sa devina tot mai frig. Am fost foarte inspirat in Ramnicu Valcea, intr-o statie de benzina sa ma imbrac corespunzator . Frumusetea Transfagarasan-ului este data faptul ca serpentinele sunt foarte abrupte, curbele stranse si prapastii de peste 30-40 metrii. Gradul de inclinatie al motocicletei in curbe amplifica doza de adrenalina de 10 ori ;)))))) . Este cea mai tare senzatie pe care am trait-o !

I went into the tunnel at Balea with great care, in nice weather. After I anxiously rode along the 900 meters of the tunnel, I was in for a shock at the other end of the tunnel: fog + snow. It was so cold that my visor fogged up instantly, and when I lifted the visor I saw the hawkers behind their roadside stalls, wearing winter clothing, hoods, gloves, etc.

Am intrat cu mare grija in tunelul de la Balea, la intrare vremea fiind frumoasa. Dupa ce am parcurs cei 900 de metrii ai tunelului, cu emotii, am avut un soc la iesirea din tunel : ceata + zapada. Era asa de frig ca mi s-a aburit instant viziera de la casca, iar dupa ce am deschis viziera am vazut vanzatorii ambulanti de la gheretele de pe marginea drumului imbracati cu haine de iarna, gluga, manusi.... etc.

I knew that this tunnel was famous for the fact that the weather was never the same at both ends, but I never thought the difference could be that big.

Stiam ca specificul tunelului este faptul ca niciodata vremea nu este aceeasi la intrare si la iesire, dar nu am crezut ca poate fi asa diferenta de mare.

Sadly, I could not spend more hours in the area and walk down to the lake, because dusk came very quickly and the road ahead to Cluj was long.
Cu regret, nu am putut sa stau mai multe ore in zona, sa cobor pana la lac, deoarece s-a inserat foarte repede si drumul pana la Cluj urma sa fie lung.

I started my descent, in awe of the scenery, and promising myself that I would return (on a motorcycle or bicycle, of course).
Am inceput coborarea, uluit de peisaj si cu promisiunea ca o sa revin (bineanteles pe motor sau pe bicicleta)
